A Republican congressman has called for the impeachment of Attorney General Merrick Garland over his role in the Biden administration’s “coverup” of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., said that Garland is “the head of the snake” and that he must be held accountable for his actions.

“Garland has refused to investigate the laptop, which contains evidence of corruption and influence-peddling by Hunter Biden,” Tenney said. “He has also refused to release the laptop to Congress, despite a subpoena. This is a clear coverup, and Garland must be impeached.”

The laptop, which was first reported on by the New York Post in October 2020, contains emails and other documents that appear to show Hunter Biden engaging in corrupt business dealings while his father was vice president.

Tenney is not the first Republican to call for Garland’s impeachment. In December, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, also called for Garland to be removed from office.

“Garland is a corrupt actor who is protecting the Biden family,” Jordan said. “He must be impeached immediately.”

It is unclear whether there is enough support in Congress to impeach Garland. However, the calls for his removal are a sign of the growing frustration among Republicans about the Biden administration’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
